State and federal law place duties on pharmacies to protect consumers not only from errors in the filling of prescription medications, but also in verifying the appropriateness. Pharmacist Mistakes: When you go to a pharmacy to get a prescription filled you have the right to rely on the pharmacy and the pharmacist to make sure you are getting the drug you need in the correct dosage with the instructions to enable you to take it safely.
